The Manna Dey Sangeet Academy Archive was inaugurated on May 1, 2006 on his 87^th birthday by Sri Provas Chandra Dey, the youngest brother of Sri Manna Dey and the President of Manna Dey Sangeet Academy. The inaugural function was attended by eminent music directors,  lyricists and singers  like  Sri Rotu Mukhopadhyay, Sri Miltu Ghosh, Sri Dipankar Chattyopadhyay, Sri Depaprosad Chakraborty, Sri Haraprosad Mondal, Sri Sudeb Dey, Smt Shraboni Ghosh Mondal and many other dignitaries.

The archive of a great singer cum music director Padmabhusan Manna Dey is possibly the first repository of its kind, especially during the active life of the maestro. The archive covers almost every aspect of this eminent singer and composure. His life sketch, achievements, contributions, honors and awards? audio and video live recordings,  etc. are exhibited with photographs and narration, giving emphasis on the versatility of this genius.

The repository is also a haven for the friends, disciples, lovers, admirers and devotees of this great son of India. As an archive is an ever-expanding monument of records, any addition, suggestion and advice is cordially accepted.
